How Can Sound Balance Your Brain? #adhd #binaural

As you might know, our brains are divided into two hemispheres; left and right. You may also know, the right side of the brain is the intuitive, feeling and creative side, and the left side of the brain is the logical and linear side (and that our society, and most people in general, value and primarily operate from, the logical and linear side of life).

You may also know, that the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, and the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body… conversely, sound going into the right ear effects the left side of the brain, and sound going into the left ear effects the right side of the brain.

OK, so what does that mean? It means, that we can use different sounds, delivered through the ears via earphones, to directly influence, and seperately stimulate, the two halves of the brain. By doing this, we may be able to boost creativity, by stimulating the right side of the brain, stimulate logical and linear thought, by stimulating the left side of the brain (good for attention deficit disorder) or, cause the two hemispheres to come into a more equal balance.

Why is this good? Many people, including the masters of deep meditation, see the “balanced brain” as an optimal state of being, a state where intuitive creativity are balanced with the logic and linear thought needed to get those ideas implemented into reality.

How can I do this myself? Binaural beat sound therapy is the easiest way to do this. You can easily purchase very inexpensive MP3s on iTunes and CDs and MP3s on Amazon. It certainly is worth a try!
